Who tends to be a good fit
Most people who take the quiz are dealing with lower back pain, neck pain, pain that shoots into a leg (sciatica), pain that shoots into an arm, pain between the shoulder blades, or hip and buttock pain. Many have had it longer than six weeks and have already tried rest, medication, physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments or injections without lasting relief. If you have an MRI from the last two years, bring it — Dr. Cantor will review the imaging with you.
When decompression may not be the right fit
Spinal decompression is not appropriate for everyone. The last question on the quiz asks about osteoporosis, a spinal fracture, a tumor or cancer in the spine, recent spinal surgery with hardware, pregnancy, and an abdominal aortic aneurysm. If any of those apply to you, decompression may not be the right fit — but that does not mean we cannot help. How long does the back pain quiz take?
About 60 seconds. There are eight questions, one per screen, plus a short screen where you leave your name, email and phone so we know where to send Dr. Cantor’s recommendations.
Do I need an MRI to take the quiz?
No. One question asks whether you have had an MRI in the last two years, but you can take the quiz either way. If you do have recent imaging, bring it to your first consult and Dr. Cantor will review it with you.
What happens after I finish the quiz?
You see your result right away, and Dr. Cantor’s team receives your answers. If your answers suggest you may be a candidate, the next step is to schedule a consultation and an imaging review with Dr. Cantor. If your answers raise a health flag, the team will talk with you about the other options that fit you better.
Is DRX9000 spinal decompression surgery?
No. The DRX9000 is a non-surgical spinal decompression table. There is no incision and no general anesthesia involved in decompression treatment.
