What happens during an orthopedic evaluation at TriMed Spine & Joint?
The visit starts with your history and how the problem behaves day to day, followed by a physical examination of the affected region and the joints above and below it. If imaging is needed to answer a specific question, we will explain what we are looking for before ordering it. You leave with a working diagnosis and a written plan rather than a vague instruction to rest.
Will I need surgery?
Most orthopedic problems are managed without surgery. Our approach is to work through the non-surgical options first, including medication, rest, activity modification, injections and physical therapy, and to consider a surgical opinion when those options have been given a fair trial or when the findings make surgery the more sensible starting point. We will tell you honestly which category we think you are in.
How is the orthopedic side of the practice different from the chiropractic side?
Chiropractic care focuses on joint mechanics, alignment and the soft tissue around them, using hands-on adjustment and rehabilitation. Orthopedic care adds medical and surgical management of bone and joint problems, including imaging interpretation, injections and operative options. Because both are under one roof at TriMed Spine and Joint, a patient who needs to move between the two does not have to start over with a new practice.
Which parts of the body do you treat?

Do you see recent injuries and second opinions?
Yes. We see both sudden injuries that need prompt attention and long-standing or complex cases, including patients who have not improved elsewhere.
